Cleaning FAQs

  • What do I need to do to prepare for a cleaning?
We are not hired to pick up your items before cleaning. Here are some simple steps to prepare for your cleaning: Make sure that your home is accessible. A key, door combination, garage code or a meet and greet are all acceptable methods. Have your home clear of clutter and personal items off the floor and surfaces. We are house cleaners, not housekeepers. Organizing and putting toys away is a separate service. If there is a surface or room that does not follow these guidelines, it will be skipped. Please declutter prior to your appointment. Secure pets unless you have cleared this with Meagan in advance. Make sure pets are safe and in a designated room or kennel to avoid any incidents. Please make sure sinks are clear of dirty dishes. Dish washing is not a service ACC provides. If dishes are left, that area will be skipped over.
  • What cleaning products will you be using?
Adirondack Cleaning will provide all cleaning products and equipment for Deep Cleanings and Move-In/Out Cleanings. Monthly clients will provide their own cleaning supplies for routine services. An additional cost will apply to have these products provided for you. Eco-friendly options are available!
  • Do I need to be home when you are cleaning?
Adirondack Cleaning will never tell you that you must leave your home however, it's preferred to have the home empty for the duration of the cleaning. This allows staff to be 100% focused on the task at hand. As long as you discuss a plan to let us in there's no need to stick around.
  • What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my cleaning?
We understand that life happens. We cant always predict sickness or sudden change of events. Adirondack Cleaning requires a 48 hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling. We will do our best to reschedule you the same week. There are no current contracts in place to penalize you for this however if it becomes routine habit, your cleaning slot may be compromised.
  • How do I pay for my cleaning service?
ACC offers a variety of payment options including payment plans for those who need a little extra time. Ask Meagan for details. You can choose to pay with check (Due at the time of service), PayPal, Venmo or Zelle. Keep in mind that if you are selecting an electronic payment option your payment is due 24 hours before your service. This will allow time for funds to transfer by the next business day. ACC does require a $50 non refundable deposit for all bookings. This payment will secure your appointment. If there are any questions contact Meagan. Cash is not preferred.
  • Do you offer a guarantee?
Meagan stands by her work 100%. After each cleaning is performed you will be asked to look over your home to see if there are any areas you feel need more attention or detail. If for any reason you have a concern or you don’t feel satisfied with your service, please contact us within 24 hours for a re-evaluation. We will do everything we can to meet your expectations.
  • How many hours is my cleaning going to take?
There is no set amount of time. It all depends on the condition of your home. Most deep cleanings or one time jobs take anywhere between 6-8 hours. A routine cleaning is approximately 2-5 hours. Some larger and more detailed services may take longer.

I hired ACC for a deep clean before I put my parent's house on the market. The house was cleaned on a Tuesday, went on the market Thursday and by Saturday I had three offers and more appointments for showings. The house shines! Great attention to detail and great communication!

Once again Adirondack Cleaning & Caretaking nailed it! Meagan does such an amazing job and coming home to my house scrubbed from top to bottom was such a relief, especially with the holidays coming!

I hired Meagan to do move-in cleaning of our first ever home. She was extremely accommodating, friendly, professional, and efficient. She made moving in so much less stressful! I highly recommend ACC!
